Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last Updated: September 14, 2025
At Burnsies Guide Service, we understand that plans can change and that weather conditions do not always cooperate. This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains our policies regarding deposits, cancellations, rescheduling, weather-related changes, and online payment fees.
By booking a trip with Burnsies Guide Service and submitting your deposit, you acknowledge and agree to the terms below.
Safety & Weather
The safety of our guests is our number one priority.
Fishing and boating conditions can change quickly. Burnsies Guide Service reserves the right to postpone, reschedule, shorten, modify, or cancel a trip when the captain determines that weather, water conditions, equipment concerns, or other circumstances may create an unsafe situation.
The captain has final authority regarding whether conditions are safe to operate.
If Burnsies Guide Service determines that weather or other conditions are unsafe and the trip cannot proceed, the trip will be rescheduled to the first mutually agreeable available date that works for both the customer and Burnsies Guide Service.
Weather-related decisions will be based on safety and actual or reasonably anticipated conditions, not simply on whether rain, wind, clouds, temperature changes, or other unfavorable conditions are forecast.
Customers should not assume that a trip has been canceled because of a weather forecast. Unless Burnsies Guide Service has contacted you and advised otherwise, customers should plan to arrive as scheduled.
$150 Deposit
A $150 deposit is required to reserve your fishing trip and secure your scheduled date.
All deposits are non-refundable.
When a qualifying trip is rescheduled under this policy, the deposit will be applied toward the rescheduled trip rather than refunded.
Customer Cancellations or Rescheduling — More Than 2 Weeks Before the Trip
If a customer needs to cancel or reschedule more than two weeks before the scheduled day of the trip, Burnsies Guide Service will work with the customer to reschedule the trip to the first mutually agreeable available date.
The original $150 deposit remains non-refundable and will be applied toward the rescheduled trip.
We ask customers to provide as much notice as possible when requesting a change so that we have an opportunity to make the original date available to another customer.
Customer Cancellations or Rescheduling — Less Than 2 Weeks Before the Trip
Cancellations and rescheduling requests made less than two weeks before the scheduled trip can make it difficult for Burnsies Guide Service to fill the reserved date.
If a customer cancels or requests to reschedule less than two weeks before the trip and the original date is not filled by another customer, the customer may be responsible for an additional $100 fee.
Whether the additional $100 fee is charged will depend on the circumstances surrounding the cancellation or rescheduling request. Burnsies Guide Service reserves the right to waive the additional fee when circumstances reasonably warrant doing so.
The original $150 deposit remains non-refundable.
No-Shows
Customers are responsible for arriving at the agreed-upon location at the scheduled time. If you believe you will be late or unable to attend your trip, please contact Burnsies Guide Service as soon as possible.
Failure to arrive for a scheduled trip without contacting Burnsies Guide Service may be treated as a customer cancellation. The $150 deposit remains non-refundable, and additional charges may apply as permitted under this policy.
Online Portal & Processing Fees
All fees associated with payments made through the online payment portal are non-refundable.
These fees cover payment processing and related transaction costs and will not be refunded or credited when a trip is canceled, changed, or rescheduled.
Rescheduled Trips
When a trip qualifies for rescheduling under this policy, Burnsies Guide Service and the customer will work together to select the first mutually agreeable available date.
Rescheduled dates are subject to guide availability, seasonal availability, and other existing bookings.
A request to reschedule does not guarantee that a specific alternative date will be available.
Circumstances Beyond Our Control
Burnsies Guide Service recognizes that unexpected circumstances can occur. Situations will be evaluated individually when appropriate, particularly when circumstances outside the customer’s reasonable control affect a scheduled trip.
Nothing in this policy requires Burnsies Guide Service to operate a trip when the captain believes doing so would compromise the safety of guests, the captain, the vessel, or others.
Safety takes priority over the scheduled trip.
Questions or Changes to Your Trip
If you need to cancel or reschedule a trip, or if you have questions regarding weather or your scheduled fishing trip, please contact Burnsies Guide Service as soon as possible.
